How dare we work outside of God’s time? How dare we ever think He’s late!!!
It’s so easy to get caught up in the rush of our busy lives, to become frustrated when things don’t go as we expected or hoped. How often do we find ourselves anxiously looking at the clock, desperately trying to squeeze more into a day than what’s possible? How often do we doubt the timing of the Lord, assuming He’s forgotten us or hasn’t heard our prayers because we can’t see the answers unfolding right in front of us? Yet, in the moments of our impatience, we must remember: God’s timing IS perfect.
God Is Never Late!!!
God, the Creator of time itself, is never in a rush. He’s not bound by minutes, hours, or days like we are. His timing is not dictated by our schedules or our urgent to-do lists. And guess what? It’s always exactly what we need. His timing is never early, and it’s never late—it is always just right.
The Bible tells us in Ecclesiastes 3:11: “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” The phrase “in its time” is significant here. God’s plan for our lives is not a rushed project, nor is it a random collection of events. It is perfectly timed—and even the waiting is part of His grand design. He makes everything beautiful in its time. That means our struggles, our questions, and our delays—when we look at them through the lens of eternity—are part of a beautiful, unfolding plan. His wisdom spans beyond what we can fathom, and every season, even the hardest ones, are working for a greater purpose.
How Dare We Struggle to Open Our Calendars to the Lord???
When we think about the ways we often fail to trust God’s timing, one of the most surprising things can be how easily we fill our calendars with things that aren’t necessarily God’s best for us. Our lives are often packed with tasks and appointments, and we sometimes squeeze God out of our schedules. But He is the One who gives us time—so how dare we fail to make room for Him in our lives?
Lord, teach us patience! We long to be available, to be present with You in every moment. But our calendars often scream otherwise. God’s time isn’t about being busy; it’s about being with Him. And the beauty of it is that His presence doesn’t require us to “do” anything. It’s simply about being with Him. In Psalm 46:10, the Lord invites us: “Be still, and know that I am God.” In a world that constantly urges us to do, God calls us to be—be still, be present, and trust that He is working in us and through us, even when we don’t see it right away.
The One Who Works Outside of Time, Yet His Time Is Always Perfect!!!
Think about it: the One who created time itself is not bound by time. God is beyond time. He stands outside of it, yet He works within it perfectly, orchestrating our lives in ways we can’t even begin to understand. The very One who created the seasons, the sun, and the moon, who established the days and years, is the One guiding us in every moment. And He does so with perfect precision.
We see this beautifully illustrated in 2 Peter 3:8, where it says: “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” God’s perception of time is so vastly different from ours, and yet, His timing is always right. He doesn’t rush through our lives or forget our needs. He simply moves with purpose, always ahead of us, always in control.
Our Time Should Be More Than Open to Him!!!
If we truly understand that God’s timing is perfect and that He is never in a rush, our hearts should be more than willing to make room for Him in our lives. Our time should be open to Him, not just when it’s convenient or when we have a free moment, but in every moment. We are His, and our time is His.
In Psalm 90:12, the psalmist prays, “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” This verse is a reminder that our time on earth is limited, and it’s a precious gift. God has given us this time, and He wants us to use it wisely, not just for our own benefit, but for His kingdom and glory. Making time for Him isn’t a burden; it’s a blessing. When we allow Him to fill our moments, our lives are transformed.
Lord, fill our time with You and only You!!!
When we make space for the Lord in our calendars and in our hearts, He fills that time with His presence, His peace, and His purpose. We should pray: “Lord, fill my time with You! Your presence shall follow me all the days of my life!” In Psalm 23:6, we are reminded: “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” We can rest in the assurance that when we seek His presence, goodness and mercy will accompany us, and our time will be more fruitful than we ever imagined.
Help us to always be available, Lord.
When we make room for Him, He will teach us to be available, to listen to His voice, to respond to His call, and to seek Him in every moment. In Isaiah 55:6, we are encouraged to “Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near.” His presence is always available to us, but we must make ourselves available to Him. That means turning off the distractions, opening our hearts, and listening for His still, small voice.
When You call, when You whisper… we will know it’s You!!!
The more we make space for God’s presence in our time, the more familiar we become with His voice. We won’t be easily distracted by the noise of life because we’ve trained our hearts to hear His call. When He whispers, we’ll know it’s Him, because we’ve spent time with Him, and His voice is the most familiar sound to us. As John 10:27 reminds us: “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
2 Corinthians 6:2 — “For he says, ‘In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.’ I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”
This is the moment! Now is the time for God’s favor, now is the day of salvation. His favor is available to us today, in this very moment. We don’t have to wait for a future time when things will be “better” or “easier.” His favor and His salvation are available right now. His timing is always perfect, and the day of salvation is today.
Let’s trust in His perfect timing. Let’s not be in a hurry, but let’s be faithful in the waiting. Let’s make room for Him in our schedules, in our hearts, and in our time. When we do, we will find that every moment is more than just a task to check off—it is a moment to encounter the living God, whose timing is perfect, whose love is eternal, and whose presence is always with us.
